dhcp3-server software package provides ISC DHCP server (transitional package), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dhcp3-server
dhcp3-server is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dhcp3-server package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dhcp3-server *
You will get with dhcp3-server package name, version, architecture and description in a table
